Default CIC Race at SportsNationals

It’s now official… No Problem Raceway will once again host a CIC combo race for all stock & super stock class winners at the JEG’S Cajun SportsNationals in March. NHRA has approved our Saturday format for the race.

There is no cost to enter the contest; you just have to win your class. Random pairings of Stock vs. Stock and SS vs. SS until we get down to a ladder with 8 cars or less. Ladder qualifying will be determined by best reaction time in round prior to ladder. Highest qualified cars will have lane choice in ladder pairings.

NPR will reward the winner with $1,000, $500 to the runner-up, and $250 to each of the semifinalists. We will once again accept product from manufacturers and suppliers for the winner & runner-up. Interested parties can contact me at (985) 369-3692 or via e-mail to: patjoffrion@hotmail.com

And with all of the rain we've been getting down here, the crawdads should be plentiful.

I'm trying to get my junk stuffed together in time to make it this year. I can't win class, but would love to watch the CIC race. It'll be interesting to see just how fast some of these guys can actually run.

Never ate a craw fish. May have to try it.

Dave Layer of Heads-Up has posted $250 / $125 for the winner & runner-up to be taken as a credit for any labor work in his shop.

THANKS DAVE!

Is the format for a CIC race basically the car that runs the furthest under the index wins the race? kind of like the old AHRA back in the late sixties?

I ran some AHRA races back in the '60s with my NHRA Super Stocker, and could run over a second under their record. Their national records were all bogus soft. You could only run 1/10th under or you broke out. I would have loved a no break out format. Hard to slow a car over a second.

The CIC race at Pat's is run like an NHRA Comp Elminator race. I can't wait to see it.

Pat, what factor are you using for the cic race .7 or 1.00 under the index? Tom
