Utica Rome dragstrip photos

Just an FYI for any folks who may remember racing at Utica Rome dragstrip in the 60's to late 70's. There is a strong rumor going around that this track, that was located in Vernon NY may be rebuilt. Also, every other wednesday (the last one occured on 1/24) folks that raced at that track 'in the day' get together at the Polish Club on South George St., Rome NY. If you were there and have any photos to show, possibly home movies or have info on this track being rebuilt... stop by! Good bunch of people, bar and lots of bench racing.

this could be great news.
I have family in Ilion and Frankfurt. I go most years to whitesboro to my uncles college scholarship fund drive golfing for Ilion HS. This is great news for a depressed area of New York. They really need to think outside the box to bring new life there. Best of luck to you all.
