Well folks, we made it to sunny Florida. I was hoping for 70's but mid 60's will work. Its 54 right now and tomorrow's forecast is for 65 and sunny.
There are 20 rigs already waiting to get in. I see Gary Richard's rig along with Frank Maiolo, Ralph Porpora and Bill Hawk. They said they would let us in around ten tonight. I know this is not a National or a points meet, but I thought some would like to know how testing goes tomorrow. I will try to get some pictures and et's for everyone. I will be testing so please be patient, I will try to update as soon as I can. |

Morning everyone, its 60 right now and sunny. The bar is 30.17 and the humidity is 36%. Corrected altitude is 200ft above sea level, no wind to speak of.
We should be getting under way in about 30 minutes. More cars came in this morning, lots of local cars. Small tire and parachutes, means lots of fast cars. Track looks good, they ran here last night, lots of rubber on the track. Here are a few pictures of Frank Maiolo's new ride along with a few others. Brian, dang you, you said you would be here. I guess work comes first. |

From what I have heard, if NHRA had come off of less than $5000 in the price of holding a race, this whole turn of events wouldn't have happened.
I'm glad their greed and stupidity hits them where it hurts. $! |

Ok Guys, final report and we are off to Gainesville. The air stayed about the same for the whole day. Temp 67, bar 30.12, humd 30%, DA 650-700 feet.
Porpora A/S 10.11 @ 131 SS/B 8.96 @ 150 Richard C/SA 10.32 @126 GT/AA 9.18 @ 142 Hawk B/SA 10.25 @ 127 Miele AA/AS 9.81 @ 135 There were others but I did not get their et's, I was to Busy making changes. The weather was great all day, and I would say it was quicker then last year. We were able to make as many runs as wanted. The track started to go away late in the day, the bite was better early in the day. There were some casualties, Chris Howes broke a trans and Bill Hawk also broke a trans. They will be fixed for Gainesville. Denny, thanks for the help. I made converter change and the car picked 1 mph and 7 hundreds, If I could have hook better like the early runs it would have ran like a told you. One thing I messed up, had to rush to get to the lanes before they closed and forgot to put the card back in the racepak. I wanted to see what the ratio was, anyway thanks again it was a big help. I want to thank Motor Sports Innovations. Greg, the Racepak is a great tool to have, wondering why I waited this long to use one. I will be reporting from Gainesville everyone, I hope to get lots of pictures. If any one has request, pass them along on my Gainesville thread. |
