Default 1966 Dodge Coronet 500, Championship Winner

With great regret, I am offering my 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 bracket racer for sale. This is an original black plate CA car its whole life, and is still registered and insured for the street. I have moved on to Stock Eliminator racing, so I can't keep two racecars around. This car was professionally built and campaigned for about 3 years. I won a track championship in 2008 and many races along the way. The car consistently runs 10.80's at 122-123mph, with 1.48 60' times, and awesome wheelstands. I was never into putting up super low ET's, so I built the car with strength and consistency in mind. It currently has a 600HP/625lb.ft of torque, 512c.i. big block wedge motor, that is built like a tank. The hydraulic roller cam is fairly mild, with Harland Sharps rocker arms. The heads are just stock Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, with a Super Victor manifold and Barry Grant Mighty Demon 850cfm carb. With a cam swap and head work, there is another 150HP waiting to be had. The motor also has a Hooker Super Comp headers, a Meziere water pump, Powermaster one wire alternator, electric fan, aluminum radiator, and has been converted to manual steering. The trans is a Torqueflite 727, that is built with all the best parts: A&A reverse manual valve body with transbrake, fully rollerized gear set, billet steel drums, Alto red clutches and steels, bolt in sprag, and a deep aluminum pan and Lokar locking dipstick. The rear end is a Ford 9" with 11" drums, Moser axles, 3.90 gears, and a spool. Front and rear shocks are QA1 double adjustables, with 6cyl. torsion bars in front, and Cal Tracs with split mono leafs in the rear. The front brakes are near new Lamb lightweight discs, that will stop on a dime. It is a complete Lamb front retro kit including master cylinder, brake pedal modifications, calipers, rotors, and hubs. It has also been custom tubbed and springs relocated inboard to clear the tires. All the rear suspension relocation work was professionally done, and not from an off the shelf kit. The car only weighs 3150lbs. with full functional glass, and the only fiberglass is the front bumper and hood. So if you wanted, the car could easily get under 3000lbs. with lexan, a fiberglass decklid, and rear bumper. This is an original black plate CA car, and I still keep it registered and insured. It would need some mufflers and street tires to be driven legally though. There is a 12 gallon fuel cell in the trunk, with Aeromotive pump and regulator feeding the motor. Battery is also located in the trunk, with a cutoff switch. The cage and subframe connectors are all custom built out of chromoly, and are built with strength and rigidity in mind. The dash is stock, but has been gutted behind, and only the stock cluster remains. Auto Meter Pro Comp guages keep an eye on the important things, along with an Auto Meter tach. I know this is a long post, but the car has tons of quality work done to it, and no shortcuts were taken. I am sure there is stuff I am forgetting, but feel free to ask any questions, and I will do my best to answer. Photos available via email. Price is $19,900.
