290/3.44 1 st gear 4speed american, alum f'wheel,4.57 gears,8.5 slicks, around 3200lbs w/ me in it
anybody recommend a single disc+pp? flywheel is drilled for borg&beck or diaphram. USED to be a long style that was made with b&b bolt pattern but if there is now, i ain't finding it... |

you will have to do some research on what will fit ,,,for that ,,,is the trans a amc t-10 or a gm t-10(info from previous post),,thats a real low first gear for that trans ,,i would say if your presure plate is drilled for a borg & beck check out a ram adjustable plate and a sintered iron disc ,,more than likely you may not need a ton of base presure ,,you will have to tread lightly if you are using stock type transmissions Gmonde

Autozone or Checker Auto has rebuilt clutches that are more affordable. They may not last, they probably aren't fast, but it will get you through the pits.

don't be a dick and I won't be...
thought i WAS specific, what more do you want to know? i'm not gonna be running in the upper classes of stock OR superstock nor do i have stock in ACT clutches gmonde is on the same plane as me, i think or at least is more realistic. last i checked,ACT didn't have anything i could use (AMC)but i could be wrong... besides, i could run a LUK if it had the sfi sticker on it... ![]() maybe impact has a few they'd sell me.... btw, seems like the only way i'd have to worry about a heads-up race is if i'd build 2 cars... way too many autos out there.. |

depends on whether you are plannining on using the clutch or not between gears. sintered iron if not clutching, rag if using the clutch.

tomslick,
You can use sintered iron and use clutch on gear changes.I would redrill flywheel for long style pressure plate the ram is most economical can get adjustable long style and sintered iron disc around 700.00.(new)You'll need lower base pressure though probaly 1200# and lower.Anyone that has bridgeport style mill and knows how to use it can redrill flywheel for long style,I have even done it on vavle/guide seat machine before. On low power car clutch is still important because if it does'nt have controlled slippage it will bog on launch and or gear changes or both. Mike Taylor 3601 |
