Thumbs up Re: Quarter Aces S/SS race photos

You are correct Mike......That IS the way the SS/AH Hemi engines should look like and the SS/A Hemis in IHRA to. I always felt that the carbs should remain in the stock location like in this pix even if they ran a sheet metal intake. Now they use a BILLET CNC machined intake that cost a small fortune! The Bill Stiles Duster was his Pro Stock car from the early 70's. Thanks for the great photos.

A big thanks to Mike Carr of Tri-State Stk / SS Assoc. for helping put together this race at Quarter Aces. All the cars hooked hard and ran well. We had MANDRA and East Coast Gassers along with our regular weekly racers with us as well. We got many positive comments from everyone, racers and spectators. Congrats to Roger Resse, the winner and Kevin Anderson, runnerup. A big thanks to Mid-Atlantic Hoosier Tire and Larry Snyder of Superior Tool Sales for gift cerificates and tools. Stock and Super Stock are a perfect fit with nostalgia racing at our track. We WILL schedule a Spring and Fall event for Stk / SS racers in 2011. We loved having them. If anyone wants to test at our track on regular race days, we will make sure you get plenty of runs on a hard hooking track. Feel free to call me for more info. 717-259-7996.

Thanks for having us, Mike. It was a good day, even with a low car count. Car counts have been bad all year for our series, and I am undecided as to what I will do for 2011. If there are races at Quarter Aces next year, I can tell racers that are going that the track hooks and it's a nice, down-home type track. I enjoyed myself this past weekend. Thanks again.

Smile Re: Quarter Aces S/SS race photos

By the way, for those stk / ss racers that didn't make our event, we charged the racers nothing to race this event, the entry fee was collected by Mike Carr, was a 100% payout deal. We considered these racers as part of the "show". We want to feature theses racers a couple of times a year, our sponsors kicked in the tools and gift certificates to make it even better. We know the expense and time it takes to run divisional or national events and these smaller races are a good alternative. This is a fun little track and we love to host other racers that drive the nostalgia type cars AND stock / super stockers. Check our website for future events. We'll try to have the 2011 schedule up in Jan.
