Default Need Help with fastener in ClassicTrailer

I need to move a cabinet in my 2006 Classic Industries trailer. It is not a Torx but resembles it with a couple more splines. It looks like a star. does anyone have any suggestions? I have tried allen, and Torx. The Torx T-15 is too small, and T-20 is too big, but the splines do not match. What kind of odd fastener did they use, as all of the fasteners in the garage area are this style.

Thanks

Sean

Could it be a multi sided square? I know Hallmark uses, used one that a square drive fits into.

Have you tried a metric Allen , or an American style? I just might grip enough to take those things out and throw them away.

It is a square head fastener. You can get them from Home Depot in the Dewalt tool section. Pace uses the same thing on their trailers. Frustrating little bastards they are.

I have a Classic trailer and its a square headed driver that fits those screws, at least that was all I found in my tool box that worked.

ya also might have what is known as a clutch head screw they kind look like a figure 8---most likely ya have a #2 square head screw---Mobile homes,RV and trailers use the #2 screws a lot do not strip out the slots in the head as easily as a phillips does especially if ya are installing self drilling fasteners--Comp

That makes sense. 8 pt, dual # 2 square driver. Commonly available from Black and Decker.
Just shows how much I know about enclosed trailers ...

I thought it was a stupid question to ask, but I am glad I did.

As always thanks everyone.

Yes they are square drives. I have a Classic and replaced all the screws on the front stainless trim panels. It took me a while to figure out what fit and how to get them out......I used a drill driver and all you need to do is use a hammer and give the screws a couple taps with the driver in the screw. Then they come right out and I replaced them with stainless screws. Interior screws should be no probelm with rust.......
