Default 2011 Mid Atlantic Super Gas Schedule

January 21st, 2011 – The Mid Atlantic Super Gas Association (MASGA) will kick off its 6th season in Mid-May at Rising Sun, Maryland’s Cecil County Dragway. For the first time in MASGA’s short history Cecil County will host the season opening weekend of 9.90 racing in 2011 on May 21st & 22nd. This will be a great warm-up race for anyone who would like to test and tune before the Division 1 Lucas Oil Race the following weekend at Maple Grove Raceway. The next race on the schedule will see MASGA visit “The Thrills in the Hills” known as Numidia Dragway on June 18th & 19th. Bob Diminio and Crew are stepping up to the plate for 2011 and guaranteeing the $1,000 payout to the winner of both events no matter how many cars show up! As an added incentive to make the trip the payout will increase to $ 1,500.00 if the car count is up over 30 cars. Next up is the the mid-season mark and a visit to Maple Grove Raceway on July 9th & 10th for the 2nd annual “Sportsman Circuit Shootout”. Maple Grove Track President Lex Dudas has made this a great show for the .90 sportsman stars of the NHRA and is expecting a good turn-out for this annual event. After, a few weeks off from the track the crew returns for the first of two visits to Atco Raceway on August 13th & 14th. This race will also provide a great test and tune for anyone attending the following weekends Division 1 Lucas Oil Event at Cecil County Dragway. To close out the season MASGA finds them-selves going back to Southern New Jersey and Joe Sway’s Facility on September 17th & 18th.

Entry fee for ALL EVENTS will vary based on the TRACK ENTRY fee. Based on a 32 car field the payout to win will be $ 1,000.00. The MORE CARS we get the more it is to pay out to the winner, r/up, etc. REMEMBER YOU DO NOT need to be a MASGA Member to run our races but, if for some reason you win or r/up dues will be taken out of your winnings. For information on the series please visit our website at www.midatlanticsupergas.com or e-mail Leanne Luciano at leanneluciano@hotmail.com.
Hope to see LOTS of 9.90 drivers out at our events in 2011!!

We would have loved to come back to MIR this year because Royce's facility is top notch. We were going to keep it very local this year and hit the tracks that we know draw the cars (Maple, Cecil and Atco). We figured with Gas Skyrocketing, NHRA doing their little increase and other things...having 2 dates with 4+ hour drives for most guys would kill the car counts and membership. You look at last year's counts and Numidia (18 cars) and MIR (19 cars) were the lowest turnout. Bob from Numidia met up with us at the Keystone Nationals this year and after we told him the bad news he threw payout deal at us and we couldn't resist. Trust me we have our eyes on returning to MIR in 2012 and Royce knows about it.

Would love to support your assoc. Will try and make maple grove thats the closest for me at 5 hours. With NHRA raising the cost of everything this assoc is a great alternative and has great racers supporting it. Thanks

Thanks for the kind words about the association. If you have an e-mail address I can have Leanne add you to the e-mail list. This way you can keep up to date with any updates on races for 2011 and 2012. Would be great to see a good turnout at Maple Grove and have a nice payout and crowd.
