Hey everyone new to the site. I have a problem my mono spring dowl pin that lines up the rear end to the spring. when I put the dowl on the center hole on the spring pad on the rear end it moves my tire forward and it almost touches the wheel well if I move the rear end to the forward hole on the spring pad everything seems good everything is even.Im just wondering what problems might come from moving it forward in this position. I called calvert and everything they sent was right on they cant even figure out why it doesnt line up on the center hole on the spring pad my front hanger is in the stock position and stock hanger for a 22" leaf spring. I had ss springs on it before and couldnt hook up. I guess I should have put my combo first. 69 charger 426 hemi 4 speed mcleod soft loc clutch dana 60 4.10 locker M/T 28 10.5 15 slicks.Anyone have this problem on a dodge b body. Thanks

I would think the spring hanger has been changed. Mancini racing sells them in different lenght.

Interesting that your spring pads have 2 holes but I'm a Ford guy so know nothing about Mopar rear ends. What you are describing isn't unusual and I'm suprised Calvert didn't have an answer. I went through similar with my Mustang and ended up making a new spring pad hole.
The problem is a mono spring needs more arch to make the car sit as original. As you curve the spring you are also moving the housing forward. The Calvert springs use the back section to get ride height. It's also possible the centering pin is not in the same location relative to the front spring eye. It's tough to get an accurate measurement because the springs aren't flat but see if you can and compare the two. I know I had my housing in and out too may times trying to get the rear centered and the height I needed. If it fits well with the front spring pad holes I see no downside.

Some Chrysler pads come with two or three adjustment holes. This is not uncommon. Check to see that both front spring bolt mounting points measure the same and check the wheelbase numbers. You should be good to go. Jim

I bought new spring hangers from mancini racing to go along with the caltracs and everything is correct. I did measure wheel base stock is 117 and mine is 117.5 I just dont know if putting it in the front hole effect pinion angle and i dont have the tool to know. Thanks

You can also redrill the centering pin hole in the spring and move it to where you need it.
