I had a great weekend at both Pacemakers on Sat night and Xenia (KilKare) Sunday. 18 cars showed up at Pacemakers for the final race of 2011 for the Buckeye SS/Stock association season. Jim Nichols won the Buckeye SS/Stock combo over Joe McDougall's modified Corvette. After this event I traveled south to Xenia Ohio for there annual Geezer Event with they had a SS/Stock combo. 30 cars entered and when the smoke cleared it was the Dodge Material of Bob Marshall's winning over John Lovins in his truck.
Special thanks to always Ralph Cardamone for making sure we had a good track to race on at both Pacemakers and KilKare (the staff at both places did just great making it work), and Matt Antrobius and his parents for letting me stay at their place Sunday night and all their hospitality all weekend. And all the SS/Stock racers for the total support for making the weekend happen. Here is something that still bothers me, $20 entry and only 30 cars for $1200, guess if it would of been $10 entry fee might of been 40 cars , well......never mind....... Weather forecast didn't help but BTW, NO RAIN at all at either race |

I didn't know about the race at all until someone mentioned it in passing on here a week ago. I planned on hitting the Xenia race on the way home on Sunday. It's certainly a great deal, and I was looking forward to it, but we lost Saturday to rain at the IHRA Nat'l event in Martin, MI, and were forced to finish the event on Sunday. There were 68 S/SS cars at Martin . Maybe some of them would've been there with better promotion, better scheduling, and/or better weather.

Joe, I completely understand your frustration. Been dealing with that ''stuff'' since 1999. Some people just don't know what their missing when it comes to these races.

Joe, If ANY track provided this kind of race consistently it would be enough to drag anyone back to actively Racing again. IT was GREAT. Packed house with spectators too.
Congratulations to BOB for the win. Great to see the guys stick with it still winning... |
