Default Help Save ( KCIR) Kansas City International Raceway Petition

We could use everyones help to save our local dragstip, that has been in existence since 1967. Any help is appreciated. This track is home to the Division 5 headquarters, and has had a National Open for many years.

Thanks
Sean

No,
Tonight we had a meeting at city hall to support the track. Todd Bridges, the track manager has been fighting to keep the track open and asked anyone that can help, it would be appreaciated.

Thanks

Sean

I thought it was a done deal myself. I signed and hope they get this turned around. What ever happens there needs to be some kind of investigation over this deal. And if what we are hearing about the zoning dept jerking thier chain to make them sell. And the elected idiots getting behind it for thier own profit are true. Somebody needs to have thier as handed to them. This smells more than a little fishey to me. And all that talk of KC finding a new spot is BS too because we all know once KC gets what they want (the track) the search for replacment land will be OVER!

I just read on their facebook site that they are planning on running till the end of the month on saturdays or sundays if the weather is bad on sat. Is that still the plan? I am going to clarksville this weekend and Mike Beards race on thanksgiving weekend but have nowhere planned to race the weekend in between (Nov 19-20). If they are still going to race let me know and I will make the trip out there to try and help support the track.

Thanks Rob,

How soon everything takes place on it being a park is unknown. But for what its worth our division 5 director Rob Parks is one of the owners of the track. So maybe there is some hope somewhere in this deal. We will see how things go.

I thought 11-5 and 11-6 was the last weekend for the track running for the year. 200 racers attended each day. Rob Parks was there all day Saturday.

Fall Test-N-Tune Program
In the Fall we do a Saturday OR Sunday program. If we get good enough weather on Saturday to get it in the we DON'T race Sunday. That is the program for this weekend. We may change the entire program for the next weekend depending on how things are going. With that being said we are changing the schedule for this weekend. We will open Gates Saturday at 11 AM and start racing at Noon weather permitting. If that doesn't work we will try the same again on Sunday. We will race as long as the car count requires. This is from Todd Bridges the track manager, a couple of min ago. So the track is still running weather permitting.

Sean
