Default 68 Camaro combo sugestions

I have recently picked up a 68 that is a SS legal chassis. I am a long time bracket racer and and looking to jump in the the SS end off the pool.

Well the question would be what combo would you run if you were starting from scratch. I am open to pretty much anything even a LS combo if any would work for GT just want to get involved and support our loacal program and possibly a couple close DIV 5 races.

This just came up so no I have not talked to any of my local SS heros.....yet.

Thanks for any and all help.

Most of the "traditional" combinations for that year Camaro are pretty good Super Stock combinations. The older cars tend to be a little handicapped in the GT classes where you'd run the LS x combinations, because the new FWD conversion cars have so many advantages. I'd probably lean toward the 350/295, or the 396/350 if I wanted to run an automatic. But the 396/375 stick combinations are good, too, you have fewer heads up races as well. It depends on how fast you want to go and how much money you can spend

I agree, GT is tough - but there aren't really any low hanging fruit combos out there anyway.

If you're leaning toward 396/325 or 396/350, I have some good pieces that can help you get started. I'm trying to sell some of my parts, PM me if you're interested.

I really think I am leaning towards the 350/295 combo. Anyone have anything they would be willing to part with.
