Great S/SS series continues at Fayetteville, NC this weekend, Sunday April 1. 1/4 mile race. We had 35 cars at the season opener at Piedmont, paying almost $1,600 to win, and Fayetteville always draws a big car count. $75 entry, 100% payback means big bucks this weekend! There's all kinds of other stuff, too. sponsors, dash for cash, end of year shootout to qualify for, Iron Tree trophies, and good times had by all...
Details in the CCRA forum here on ClassRacer... http://classracer.com/classforum/forumdisplay.php?f=33

Well i've finally got the vette in 1 pile, so we'll be there with a throwback paint and lettering scheme honoring the previous owner (Jerri Ball) of this car. Now if i can keep it from turning over backwards we'll be ok!

Thanks to all the racers who supported us in our 2nd race of the season today at Fayetteville Motorsports Park. The race was ran very smoothly thanks to both the track employees & the racers for coming to the lanes when they were called. We had 31 drivers make the 1st round call. We had 8 to enter the points for a total of 42 members. Joel Warren won the $25 Kenny Koonce Jr. Dash for Cash sponsored by Ronnie Hamlin which also makes him the 2nd participant in the special shootout race to be held at FMSP at our last race. AJ Currie took the $50 for Best Losing Package 1st round sponsored by Homer's Custom Paint & Body. Brandon Peterson collected the $50 for Best Reaction Time sponsored by Jeff Bordeaux--Bordeaux Machine for his .5049 reaction time in the semi's.
Semi's Brandon Peterson 10.81 .5049 10.8813 120.26 defeated Michael Beard 10.79 .5272 10.8390 122.38 Ryan Hardison 10.19 .5263 10.2451 123.46 defeated Homer Carty 10.45 .5806 10.4607 125.07 Finals Ryan Hardison 10.21 .4851 10.2614 127.30 defeated Brandon Peterson 10.83 LB3A 27.0191 44.15 I would like to say a "special" THANK YOU to our race sponsor today, Currie's Towing out of Godwin, NC, which is also track manager of FMSP. Fonzie added a little bit to the purse today as well. I was also told that this was Ryan Hardison's first race win!!! Hope everyone can make our 3rd race of the season at Coastal Plains Dragway on Saturday, May 12th. |

Beautiful day for racing! Things went *really* fast, and between tinkering with the car, did not get a chance to do any "LIVE" updates. High's in the mid 70's, air around 1500' much of the day. Thank you to Sterling Simmons for the loaner safety-wear, as I'm a moron and left my fire jacket and pants at home, despite having left them neatly folded by the back door where I successfully walked past them at least three times without picking them up.

Thanks to everyone who helps with this series! 31 cars is not bad but there are more cars in this area. Come on out, you will be impressed with how it is ran! Traction was awesome, surprised me a little first time trial. I'm beginning to become the breakout king, lol!
Michael, you did an awesome job on the lettering! |

congrats to ryan and brandon on their respective finishes!! wish we could have made it down....brandon's starting out with one hell of a season this year. And of course you have to tip the hat to Scott Tilley and the Draughon family for their passion for this sport and the continuation of a fantastic series!

This was my first time racing at Fayetteville. It is a nice track with friendly staff and owners. Thank you Mr. Currie for allowing me leave my race car at the track before going to the motel. Yesterday, my Dad (Jerry Jennings) went the fastest E.T. in his 50 years of drag racing! He went 9.280 @ 150.80 mph. I'm having a fun time racing with the CCRA. I'm also taking my whippings from the Dynamite Deuce of Homer Carty. He is showing me why he is the well deserved defending CCRA Champion. Congrats to the winner and runner up
