Cool Re: New Autometer shift rpm controller

Are you talking about the shift light controller? What is the model number? I used the shift light controller to shift my transmission. Only as a back up, in case my shift controller fails.

I think It's the 5313 just wondered if that was actually works as a shift controller, probably just best off buying a E shift, or. Biondo box. Just thought maybe it was something new and easy to use.

That is the same one I have, and I bought it to run my shift lite for when I attempt to run a series called the Rage. I have a five speed lenco, and auto shifters are not allowed in the Rage series, so I will install the 5313 to run the shift lite and shift the trans manually. I also have it set up to shift my transmission which uses solenoids and air. for another class which allows auto shifters. My unit is a back up in case my primary shift controller fails. They do not make my primary shift controller any more. The unit is ok, but kind of awkward in that you have to push some of the buttons on front to enable it. SO some of the switches cannot be remote, and some can. I will have to enable it before I stage, and during my starting line procedure, the 5313 will be armed to shift my five speed. I needed the autometer to do the number of gear changes I do. I would prefer to have a reset switch and run it through the gears and it shift automatically, but this is a shift lite controller and not a shifter controller. But it will work in what I am trying to do, you just have to work with it, to figure out how it will work in your situation. Some of the ignition boxes have outputs for shift functions that are programmable. I bought the Autometer for the cost compared to others, and some of the other units were twice as much. But I have a five speed, which is not the norm.
