Good morning everyone!!
I decided Monday at the eleventh hour to enter this race in stock assuming ( I know, I know) I could show up Friday morning, tech, make a qualifying hit and be in the show like I did at the Gators. I am reading on one schedule sheet it says sportsman eliminations Friday, then on another it says friday qaulifying and tech only open to pros and alcohol. So...... LOL any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone Jeremy Preston |

It's a three-day event, first qualifying session is Friday morning. Tech doesn't usually close until final qualifying session.

You are going to have to call NHRA or Division 2 for clarification. I was going to refer you to NHRARacer.com, but that's where you found the schedule that appears to limit Friday tech to alcohol and pros.

I attempted calling both offices and left messages. this is the link to a schedule
http://www.nhra.net/2012/images/NHRA...5_CN1-rev1.pdf Then there is this one http://www.nhra.com/UserFiles/file/E...N1Schedule.pdf Showing eliminations on Friday. I appreciate the help Larry, I sincerely hope I can tech Friday Morning as taking both Thursday and Friday off work is not in the cards for me. I will now turn down the violin music playing in the background for my sob story, lol |

I checked on this with the NHRA HQ in California yesterday and they told me that tech for sportsman (other than alcohol cars) will be on Thursday till 6:00 p.m. and tech on Friday will be for the pros and alcohol cars only.

There is no good reason for them to not have tech friday. I don't know if I have ever seen it done that way. Yes, you take a chance of missing a run if you arrive late thursday or sometime real early friday, but nhra really should offer tech friday am, and do their best to get any fri arriving racers parked quickly.

Per Bruce B, there will be tech for sportsman on Friday.
Schedule has been fixed. http://www.nhra.net/2012/images/NHRA...5_CN1-rev1.pdf
