Default Best place to set record

It seems that the "value of national records" has diminished over the years. .I am just curious where might be the best place to set a record... Setting the national record is still a "big deal" to me (guess that is because I'm old LOL) It used to be Tucson (switched to IHRA) and Boise....also a bunch set in Kearney, NE...ATCO is wicked fast...Sonoma might be the place..."No Problem" is fast....Pomona is down hill...but National events only ..what do you think??? (For conversation purposes).

Mission can be fast but with a May date for the D6 race it's very dependent on weather...witnessed the first 7sec. SS run there and Hemi cars use to flock to that race to put up a good number.

Valdosta has been the site of many records, SS/AH and many others. Also, any of the early D2 races can be fast when temp and unbelievable barometer readings show up.

The best place to set a record is at a national open. Your et will not effect the AHFS unless you go 1.20 or more under.

Great thought ..........Maybe that fact will once again make records important to more than just a few of us "old timers " .................

I agree Jack, I cannot understand the NHRA's thinking. They should give back the 3 tenths on the indexes, and set the limit higher for the trigger point. Why cant everyone just show what they got if they want without getting penalized? As usual, its the crybabies that get what they want.

I especially dont understand the reasoning why there is such a large trigger at a National Event. I would think that the spectators in the stands that could relate to cars that look "normal" would like to see the true potential of stock and super stock cars.

As jmcarter said. The first D2 race or as Horace & Stephen any D2 November race. These two races should really be at Orlando or Bradenton for best results as the weather is just mine shaft. They usually include a tailwind.

No more National Opens at Valdosta since they now have a prime early Divisional date. Least what I was told. You and Stephen kinda like that place and for good reason. Westcott likes it to.
