I have a 68 Camaro with split mono's, Caltrac's and AFCO 3870R DA shocks. These shocks have 7" of travel. When sitting at ride height, I have 3" out for compression and 4" for extension using the lower mount on the Caltrac plate and the stock upper mount. I think that I may be topping out the shock sometimes when I launch and unloading the tire. These shocks have an adjuster on the top, so a shock extension is not an option.
Is 4" enough extension travel? Any suggestions on ways to get more extension by modifying the mounts or any other solutions? |

I would call Calvert. If you are getting that much rise he may want to change your spring, he did on mine. He just sent me another set of springs, assuming I would send the first ones back which of course I did. However this was when everything was all brand new.

Our Calvert springs and bar when adjusted properly cut rise and shock
extension by at least half over ss stuff on our mopars. We also reduce pinion angle by 1/2 (Do not need it when travel is reduced)which seen to lower lift as well. |
