Tri-State Stock/Super Stock Association Race #3
Saturday, June 30 Pittsburgh Raceway Park, New Alexandria PA US 22, approx 20 miles east from Monroeville exit on the Turnpike 2nd Annual Carl Schodde-Bob Butter Memorial S/SS Race This is the second annual race honoring two of the legends of Pittsburgh area Class Racing. Bob "Beaver" Butter and Carl "Holeshot" Schodde. This will be a 1/4 mile race, as all our races are. We are runing in rotation with the track's weekly bracket program. Gates open at 9 am, big car time trials begin around 12:30 pm. Two time trials, then eliminations. Maybe a third time trial if time allows. If so, we will do a Best Package Run. Anyone can run the time trial. Those wishing to do so may pay five dollars, and put a dial-in on the back window. Best package, excluding redlights and breakouts, wins the pot. S/SS race info -**100 entry -Any and all NHRA and IHRA-legal S/SS cars welcome. -Must dial your Class Index or quicker (using current IHRA/old NHRA Index). -No heads-up runs or qualifying, due to lack of scales and fuel check at the track. -After the final time trial, we will hold a drivers meeting at my table (probably near the rear of the staging lanes). Pay your **100, draw a card, and we will set the ladder for round one. This is the third of seven events for our season. There is still time to join our points program, for **25 (twenty-five). Best four of the five remaining races will count. We will pay the top three finishers, and third place will earn at least their **25 back. Our remaining four races after this are a pair of doubles. Sat-Sun Sept 15-16 back at Pittsburgh, and Sat-Sun November 3-4 in Hagerstown MD, which is roughly an hour or less from Breezewood PA at the I-70/I-76 split. Both are **50 Saturday/**100 Sunday entry fees. Sunday November 4th in H-town will pay **2,000, or more, to win guaranteed. If this race (June 30) should happen to be rained out, we will make it up at Quaker City on July 28. I have a rain-date, if needed, at Pittsburgh (Sept 29), but I want to save that in case either of the races at Pittsburgh Sept 15-16 are rained out. So, we will run the make-up of the June 30 PRP race, if needed, at Quaker on July 28 or Aug 11. The (named) Butter-Schodde race will be called that, on Sunday Sept 16 as part of the two-day, two race PID/Keystone Reunion weekend. And, if one of those two Sept races rain out, we still have Sept 29 at PRP to use, if needed. Any questions, feel free to ask. Less than two weeks away.
Also, a reminder to racers, at least those who ran one or both races at Quaker City over Memorial Day. All racers that attend four of the five Quaker/Pittsburgh races (May 26-27, June 30 and Sept 15-16) are entered into a drawing for a FREE ENTRY into the $2,000 (or more) to win Lee Sherman Memorial S/SS race Sunday November 4th in Hagerstown MD, thanks to our presenting sponsor Roberts Family Motorsports. And, another reminder, you need to display your Roberts Family Motorsports decal visibly on your car to collect the contingency awards and money from the Roberts Family. It's only right that if they are going to invest money and awards to our racers, you should have their decal on your car, and in a visible location. Look forward to seeing you at Pittsburgh June 30.

A few more notes about the race.
-Car and Driver are free at the gate (no tech card fee). Crew/spectators ten bucks. -We will run third in run order. Modified (Pro), Top ET (S/Pro) then us. -Gates open at 9 am. 'Big car' time trials at 12:30 or 1 pm, so no hurry to get there...they run Jr Dragsters and TCR through the morning. -we should be set up near the back of the lanes and/or the concession stand area with our table. After the final time trial, we'll have our drivers meeting. Pay your $100, draw a card, and we'll set the ladder for first round. Any other questions, feel free to ask. Weather looks sunny and warm (mid 80's) right now. See you on Saturday!
