Default Lawyer with race car knowledge

Does anybody know of a lawyer that can assist a drag racer that has lost his whole racing operation in a rear end collision by a big truck from a big company. I am getting no where with the insurance company because they don't have a clue or want to have a clue about my race car or toterhomes value. Hopefully near the Houston area , as that is where I am. Thanks, Wayne

Racer 4919: if you started to negotiating a settlement without an attorney that was a big mistake. The Houston area will have a lot of professional attorneys that can get the fair settlement you deserve. My advise to you is choose wisely! You do not have to take the first attorney you talk to. I'll just bet the insurance adjuster has tried to put some fault on you for the incident. Get an attorney from your area, one that is accomplished with auto accidents and personal injury experience. This is the very reason why attorneys exists. If the insurance company was dealing with you in good faith, your claim would have been long settled. Good luck and happy hunting.

Unfortunately I have first hand experience in this matter. Some of my friends on this board may remember. I lost everything in 2005 on my way to the LODRS at Lebanon Valley. I was rear ended on the NYS Thruway by a New England Motor Freight semi. The driver fell asleep and drove into the back of my trailer at about 80-90mph, I was doing about 50 in the right lane. My Super Street Nova, 24ft trailer and suburban were totalled. Im lucky to be here today.
Personal injury aside. You must sue for the replacement cost of your equipment. The truck and trailer replacement cost was cut and dry. But the hard part is putting a value on the racecar. They wanted to appraise the car as a 1971 Nova (Im not kidding). This is where you must get estimates from chassis shops to show what it will cost to repair or in my case replace the car. This is the ammo your attorney needs to negotiate a settlement. It took alot of back n forth negotiating to come to a number that I felt was fair. They went as far as to research my racing history to see what they were dealing with.
Get a good lawyer, gather alot of paperwork about the racecar and dont be in a rush......get what you feel is fair to replace your car.
