Hi i am using Hoosier 29x12x15 slick but want to go bigger to
compensate for ordinary startlines i can fit a 29.5x11.5wx15 which has 13 inchs of tread and stiff sidewall. I have 1 inch gap at front of tire will i have clearance probs. need your knowledge cheers. |

You didn't say how wide your rims are. Wider tires can grow more on the same width rim, the taller tire will take up about 1/4" of that 1" clearance, watch it, but you should be safe. But if you can afford it, it can help to go to a wider rim, which actually is recommended anyway. That way you can maintain a fuller contact patch while using more air pressure. It can help slick life, mainly the sidewalls, and top end stability. Many Stock class cars use 10" rims for their rule limited 9" tires.
