I am thinking of updating the Fleet.
Anyone have any feedback or success with the New Stuff and how much work did it take....particularly in Stock stuff? Thanks! |

Has Edelbrock corrected the valve sizing, valve stem diameter and runner volumes on the 60767 head?

I do not think either valve or guide size is correct ....unfortunately.
I have no clue on runner cc's being correct. |

Since both you guy's are here, What intake should I be looking for to go on the 1980 wagon? I haven't decided on a 318 or 360 yet. Most likely 318 though so I wont have to put a roll bar in it.

I'm going with a 318/155hp. Trying to find 79 to 83 360 manifold with correct casting #. Was hopping to use aluminum heads. Don't want to spend a lot of time or money on old worn out cast heads.

I think you will have to correct the valves size & stem. I don't know about the rest. There is a note at the end of head volumes about these heads. Same cc everywhere and correct valves. I don't think Edlebrock is doing any of that.

The biggest issue facing users of the Edelbrock head is the intake valve seat....Edelbrock heads are set up for a 2.02 intake valve only, so if your combo requires a 1.88 intake valve you will find that the seats should be replaced with smaller diameter seats in order to get enough material for a decent competition valve job....since the guides are smaller than the stock stem diameter 11/32 compared to 3/8, the guides can be reworked to the correct size......what this would do to the port volume and what you could do to maintain it I can't address....doing a set of these heads for an early 340 wouldn't be too tough, but for anything else with the smaller intake valves is another matter......

I do not believe that they are legal in stock with any of the 2-02 valve
340 Engines with high compression. These are a positive deck engine and I do not think the combustion chambers on the legal Edelbrock are compatable unfortunately. Phllip: I like 340# intake on 1980 engine |
