I'm just getting underway with gathering the things i need to get my Belair back together.
My McLeod Soft Lok clutch, that has really never not slipped, OBVIOUSLY needs to be reconditioned. With the simultaneous repair / re-assembly of the engine, and new slicks, I simply don't have the budget for a whole new clutch assembly. Unfortunately, the insert in my flywheel has taken a beating as well. My first question is.... Can I expect acceptable results from having these components rebuilt ? and... Is it affordable enough to make it worthwhile ?

Aubrey, you can either send your clutch and flywheel back to McLeod for a rebuild, which includes new heatshields. or you can ship it to Hyatt Racing in Ohio, they are a authourized McLeod agent. I know its not really convinient for you, but I have taken my clutches to Hyatt Racings semi trailer in the midway at the NHRA National events and had Tim rebuild them while he was "in the neigborhood". When he rebuilds them, they also get new SFI dates and numbers.

Thank you, as always, Rory. I gave them a quick call. Pricing all seems comparable.
Dana, thank you for the PM.... I had a good chat. Yeah, learned a few things ! Including, a new, up to date setup, is not as much money as I was being led to believe it would be. I may re-think this.

Send the whole thing back to McLeod. It will come back looking like new for a reasonable price. Will also get a new re-cert.

If parts are replaced, get the old parts back. If parts are resurfaced, take measurements.

Thanks for the link, Matt. Looks like there's a number of options.
I really appreciate the help and advice I get here ! Jeff, is there something I have to watch for ? Both outfits seem to be very proud of their product and their work ( and they should be ).
