Default Stock/Superstock Combo Muncie Dragway

hello everyone , I was at the Cabin Fever Drag Expo this past weekend, and talk to Scott Daniels the new owner of Muncie Dragway in Muncie In. I talked to him about having a stock/super stock combo race, and he was all for it. He wanted to kinda get an idea of what to expect as far as how the best way to run a combo race would be. Heads up no Heads up? How many of the guys and gals local would support it? And is there really any interest in a combo race in this location. Bowling green runs a great combo race and is very centrally located for everyone with in northern georgia, tenn, kentucky, southern indiana. Muncie is a great facility, and long shutdown area. For us div 3 guys there was suppose to be a national open there 2 yrs ago. Let see if we can make it happen. Please comment let Scott know what kinda actions need to take place to get the ball rolling and let him know how much you would support it here.

I think scheduling would be the most important factor. Most other series' have their schedules out -- takes a lot of research. Heads-ups are ok, but I'd travel for the right race regardless, as long as it fit the schedule.

Seems like there's a huge number of S/SS Combo events and series in this region. I'd almost rather they consolidate a couple races here and there and promote to a wider region, if you could get guys to travel for it, and have some larger car count, larger purse races to complement the other smaller, more local races. It takes all kinds!

I'd go. I know at least a couple of others that would probably be players.

I'd try it. Who is Scott Danials? Will he be around next year?

I might try mowing down the grass between the lanes.

Looks like they took care of the grass issue. I'd be game to run some. My father used to race there before my older brother was born. I've never ran there personally.

Heads up, staggered start off the index? Could be fun. Already plenty of bracket stuff and would be nice to see some cars let it hang out and run it out the back door. Just a thought.

How many racers are being considered?

If that grass is gone I'd support the event for sure.

If it's going to be a dial-in race, you might consider including Nostalgia Super Stock. N/SS could run on 1/4 second indexes (permanent dials) or dial like everybody else. If we get our car back together, we'd be there.

I will definitely be there to watch, regardless. I'll try to drag some buddies from work along, if their wives will let them out of the house! ;-)

Good Luck with the event!
