I must have had something in my fiber cloth when I wiped my wind shield off and put some scratches in it. Does anyone have a method of polishing and removing the scratches, to make it better, or am I just going to have to replace the wind shield?

unless it has mar-guard in it, you can treat it just like a thick coat of clear paint. it can be wet sanded and buffed. depending on how deep the scratch, 600-1000-1500-2000 grit, then buff with your choice of compound. (I use Maguire's diamond cut) you can also finish with Maguire's plastic polishes for optical clarity. I have done this many times, works like a charm.
p.s. the mar-guard is a scratch resistant coating, when you buff through it you would notice a slight difference. To your original post, I am assuming these are very light scratches, so Novus/Maguire's etc. by hand will do just fine.
