The detailed run schedule for the New England Nationals is up on the NHRA site. Here is the link - http://www.nhra.net/2013/images/NHRA...chedule_NH.pdf

Is this track ready to hold a National Event? Just curious as I cannot find the latest pics of the facilities on newenglanddragway.com or anywhere else. Did they turn it into a Norwalk type facility???

I looked at the run schedule this morning, I was surprised at the 10 am start, but certainly ok with it. Looks like we are getting plenty of runs in stk and ss. I like the schedule.
Manny, The facility upgrades this year are mostly pavement and safety, all pro catagory related. The transformation of this facility into a stadium type facility will take some time. I admire the management for taking it a step at a time rather than borrowing a zillion bucks to do it all at once. The facility ownershipwise is like no other, it was started in the 60's when the New England Hot Rod council was running the strip in Sanford,ME and I believe the town wanted to use Sanford as an airport only. There were investors and I believe all were racing people. There are alot of details that I don't know, but the ownership shares cannot be sold, only passed to relatives or they can go back to the organization. Shareholders do not make money off the track, the money goes back into the facility. The purpose of this facility has always been and still is to provide a place for people to race. I don't expect to have a great grassy or paved pit spot, but I understand the importance of this event and facility and am looking forward to racing this weekend

Having only been there once many, many years ago, I really don't recall much about the place at all. I certainly don't expect pavement, but if you're telling me you don't expect grass either, do I dare ask what I should expect?

Dan , last time I was there a year ago they still had grass and it was green . The track and grounds were find in the past and I think they will be ok if it stops raining .

The 10 AM start is even more surprising considering the fact that the Event Schedule still has an 8:30 start. I plan to be there when the gates open at 7 AM, so whenever they start; I will be there.

basically the main pit area is all paved. there is still the large grassy area on the right as you enter the pits. by main, i mean from the tower area all the way towards the top end/ scale area.

I always park in a nice grassy area when we are there for our ASRA races, the open and lodrs races, but the pros with all their stuff will probably use up all the asphalt and most of the grass.
My worst pit spot there ever was the one I had when I won the IHRA national event,,,,,, or I guess you could call it my best pit spot,,,,, it was side of the return road past the scales , dirt,,guess it was lucky dirt
