The 2013 Buckeye S/SS Drag Racing Series final weekend will soon be here. Saturday October 5th we will be at National Trail Raceway in Columbus to run one last S/SS race for the season as well as the Championship Runoff event.
We will run our usual two time trial sessions with the first one also our dial in race. After that the Championship will be contested to determine the 2013 Champion. Last year we used the hot car staging lanes so we were able to get through the runoff eliminations while other time trials for bracket cars ect. were being run. I'm sure we will do the same this year. As soon as this is completed we will get into the last S/SS race of the year. This will be a non points event as the points and the championship will be finished by then. The winner will receive $1000 and an Iron Man and runner up will get $300 and the runner up plaque. The 2013 Champion will net $1500 and the Championship Iron Man Trophy, the runner up will earn $500 and the Championship Runner up plaque. Qualified for the Championship are Jeff Ross, Danny Smith, Al Ross, Doc Sloan, Bob Sheiff, PJ Fouts, Ken Freidman, Tim Deacon, Mike Warren, John Buhler, Zac Ross, Thomas Patete, John Frech Jr, Ryan Rudrick, Tom Losket, and Eugene Chipps. The first alternate is Jim Nichols and second alternate is Adam Leach. Alternates will be used if someone for some reason cannot attend the event. Sixteen racers will vie for the title of Buckeye Stock/SuperStock Drag Racing Series Champion. Even if you are not in the Championship Runoff make plans to come race with us on Saturday October 5th for the last of the Stock/SuperStock race of the season The preliminary plan for the Buckeye S/SS Drag Racing Series this weekend Oct. 5th @ National Trail Raceway. Gates open @ 8:30 Time trials @ 9:30 (starting with junior dragsters) Buckeye S/SS Time Trial #1 11:00 am Buckeye S/SS Time Trial #2 12:30 pm Championship Runoff round #1 1:00pm Rounds 2 thru 4 will be worked in and the Champion determined by the start of regular eliminations (3:00pm) Buckeye S/SS (regular race) round #1 will be 3:00-3:30 or thereabout. I spoke to Mike and Chris at National Trail Raceway this morning and they said this should work. If there are any major changes I'll let everyone know, but this should be very close . |
