Default Question about the Dutch

How many cars show up for stock and super stock at this race? The reason I ask is because I am a big S/SS fan and was thinking about taking a ride out to the race next weekend. I have never been to the dutch before.

Expect close to two hundred (yes 200) or even more. When I used to race a few years ago, Stock sometimes had 150 cars (eight round race, since it is all-run first round). I wouldn't expect 150 Stockers this year, but with dry weather for all, and cool air for record seekers, 120 or so is not out of the question and maybe 80-90 S/S or more.

Usually if you're a fan of Stock & Super Stock this is the race to go too. Like Mike said about 150 cars. The Hemi shootout is hit or miss sometimes, depends on who has all their stuff together but, mostly about 10 to 12 cars, sometimes 16. This is kind of the last hooray for everyone to set personal bests and records. Sometimes just Stock outnumbers all the Dot 90 classes. The Dutch doesn't really draw a lot of them but, it is always cool because there is guys who break out their stuff to make the last race of the season.

It's the best Stock/SS show you'll ever see, make sure you are there both Friday and Saturday EARLY to get it all in.

Ditto to what all others have said. It just doesnt get any better than the Dutch for S/SS. Great track, gorgeous setting, leaves changing, mineshaft air, and many, many racers set on kill and flying, with plenty of records set. It is absolutely the best race I have ever been to, by a comfortable margin. Bring your warm clothes for the evenings, and even the day sometimes !

Another Bonus Feature About The Dutch Is: S & SS Class Eliminations.

I know Stock Class Runs on Friday, & SS Runs Class On Sat.

A Must See Event.

It's a National Open (I think) so the AHFS stays home. You can go as fast as you want.

The points race at Maple Grove in 2006 or 2007 had the highest Stock turnout I can recall. 155 cars entered for a 128 car qualified field.

I was running Stock so I recall it very well....I was not far from the bottom and was worried a little.....If I would have realized it might get close I would have tried harder to make a better run than my best one....

I don't think the Dutch ever had that many cars .....but definitely a good turnout if the weather is decent....

I think it was in 2006. I was racing there myself and I believe the National Open was on the Thur and Fri of the same weekend. I wish they still did it that way! Btw, the Dutch is a great race. You will not be disappointed. And make sure you hit the Shady Maple as well!
