I've purchased a bridgeport mill that's located in Anderson off I69.
Does anybody have a business in that area with a forklift that could load it onto truck for me? The fella I bought it from has a friend that can lift it but not high enough for a semi using a bobcat but he may be able to transport it a short distance and then have it unloaded. The most economical PU is from a business with a dock or Forklift but I'm not sure having just a dock would work for the 2000+#'s. I'm also concerned using a liftgate that's not rated for that weight either and that's not cheap as well. It's being bolted to a skid and the head inverted to keep the COG low. I've only used freightquote.com so far but if somebody has a hookup with a freight company from Indy to California please let me know, thx. 951 686 4230 or bonzaproducts@att.net

Bernie,
Find a local with a good size steel bed rollback truck..Winch it on there...Take to a shipping company dock, hook the truck bed on the dock, and fork it off. Fork it into a semi box, or flatbed if you don't mind a little snow on it coming through Flag... MY

Hi Bernie; Is it too heavy for a 1/2 ton pick-up and how soon do you need it?

Bernie
If you drop me a line at Mkirby@lynntraffic.com tomorrow I will check with my terminal in Indy to see if their liftgate will accomodate 2000lbs. If so, I can get it out here via a couple different carriers for a fairly reasonable rate. Mark Kirby Lynn Forwarding (661) 432-7503 |

If its got a sturdy place you can get a strap around it to lift it. Call around to towing companies and find one with a truck with a boom and lifting straps. Most companies that deal with big trucks have them for turning trucks back over. Have them pick it up (high enough to get it in the trailer) with the boom and winch cables. Then back the tractor trailer up till it until its inside the trailer and set it down. Usually costs me about 65 bucks to load and unload heavy equipment this way. For 2000 lbs you probably can do it with a med duty truck instead of a big truck wrecker. If your only option is a big truck wrecker dont bother. It will cost more than you paid for the mill.

Update:
Everyones friend and all around good guy, (he even has an OZ cow dog, Lucy) Mitch Smith has the mill at his auto service facility in Andersen and now I just gotta figure who to use for shipping. This whole class of freight number can get ya in trouble real quick if it's not classified correctly the first time ! Thx. Mark Kirby for the explanation. Thx for all the help guys, the racing community comes thru again and I'm proud to be a member of the 'club' !!
