Default 7.923/173.17...

The second run for Chris Holbrook and the new Watson Racing SS/BB 2014 Mustang was a 7.923 at 173.17 mph during competition at the NMRA Spring Break Nationals in Bradenton, Florida.

As an addendum, Chris drove his Watson Racing AAA/SA 2013 Mustang Cobra Jet to an 8.52/159.50, as well.

Again, here's the original press release with details about the car:

When I look at the pic on competition plus where is the stock floor in front of the wheel tubs? If I remember about 3 years ago a Super Stocker had to replace his . Not trying to stir the pot but did they change the rule?

I don't think that little bit would matter. On the other car the whole floor pan had been replaced with new flat steel.

Does NMRA have the same tech and penalties as NHRA?
I see the Candies SS/AAA went 8.030 at 173+ at the Div 4 race on a 7.97 dial.

I see in the article that Holbrooks car is SS/BB with a stick (very cool by the way)

What class is BB/A in SS, is that SS/BB with a slushbox? I see the qualifying list showed it as a 7.94 index.

Yes; the NMRA event is run with NHRA Tech and Rules.

The listing of Hary Phillip as a BB/A at Baytown is a typo; it's the first time they've entered that class into the CompULink and the program obviously accepted it as BB/Altered, (7.94 Index), rather than SS/BBA.

Congratulations to Brett Candies for clocking the fastest speed in Super Stock history at 173.43 mph!
