Talking Ron Ortiz Kicked My Butt!

Saturday night, third round at the IHRA Southern Nationals in Bradenton Ron handed me my hat and sent me to the showers! After being chased for most of the last 25 years I found out just how frustrating it is not to be able to catch guys like Ron! Ron went many rounds this weekend and I salute him. Respect! Jim

Well Jim, you know Ron will do that every now and then, but he is from another planet! It's great to see one of us slow, s-l-o-w stockers go some rounds.

That's okay, Jim - someday I hope he'll have to chase me down! That is, if I ever get my V/Stock El Camino on the track.

No sympathy from me for s-l-o-w LOL! I had a front row view of you turning on a W in Immokalee and Lee Tuttle handed me my butt the day before! Tough racing in Bradenton. Lost to Chris P(not even going to attempt spelling that one) with a mov of .0005! Lost in no box with a .039 and dead one for a mov of .001!! OUCH!

Thank you for the kind words Jim, it is always fun going against you. As far as my expertise as a driver who can cut great lights, it is always a let down when I go back to the "regular scheduled program" and go .131 against Merrill to eliminate myself in the semis. Had a great time though, but that was a given. Congrats to Merrill on a fine performance Sat. win and Sun. with a semi finish.

Kenny, it was nice meeting you at Bradenton, I know how you feel when you get beat by those margins. It makes you think if you have chosen the right hobby, could be worse though. The guys name is Chris Puzycki, it took me a while to get it right, try reading his license plate. For some reason he seems to like polishing things, it gets him excited.

Marty, I would love to chase you, but only if your in the red locomotive. Good luck with the El Camino, looking forward to meeting you. What if your dial in is faster than mine, do you have to chase me?

Don, what are you doing, telling people that I'm from another planet, I was trying to keep that low key.

S-L-O-W. What is the meaning of these letters? What do they stand for?
You all think that a slow car is easy to drive, well, it's not. Do you know how much focus is necessary. You all just got to pay attention for 10 to 12 seconds. A slow car needs absolutely full concentration for 14 seconds or more. If not you can drift out of the groove trying to say hi to people in the stands or answering your phone, or possibly the worst, forgetting what is going on and where are you.

Hey Randy, how you doing, wife said she misses you, looked for you at Gainesville.
