With more companys that are not paying thru the NHRA-IHRA programs, but are paying racers outside these programs. how do you find out who is & who is not? do you have to call every company out there to see if they are & how much? is there such a list-probably not. Do you have to go out and do your own deals? As we see more companys pulling out of these programs, but here they will still pay you, just win or runner up and send them proof. I run decals and do it right, but might buy from companys that pay as well if you knew who they were.

There is no such list.
That said, there was a discussion on this same matter I think it was in the stock/super stock forum, you will have to find it. it listed quite a few that now pay this way. I can give you a few. crew chief software ATI turbo action trailer toad and (maybe) strange?

Strange Engineeriing
Posted on their website: "Please note that Strange Engineering currently is not participating in any monetary sponsorship of any kind. Any support provided would be limited to products and/or discount towards products that are manufactured by Strange Engineering." Strange has always in the past been very supportive of the Sportsman racers. I have collected the Perfectly Strange award twice which was a very nice bonus. I really hated to see that go away. It was always something to shoot for and all the racers really seemed to like and appreciate the program. Just My 2 Cents Rick Cates |

Wake up Guy's ! Support the Companies that support You and NHRA.! Stop looking for the bottom line -- and the under the table companies and Race the Products that are posted.. If they can't afford to post there must be a financial reason why - just ask yourself that question !.

If a company pays me for winning with their parts then I consider that they are supporting me. So maybe the question is what is the finical reason the NHRA needs to make money on their contingency program? I have talked to a couple of small vendors who have considered this question and said no thank you to the NHRA. ![]()

I know from talking to at least two of the former Contingency sponsors that the NHRA fees ran them out of the program. One who had always been in the Manufacturers Midway said when the cost of have a space went up substantially they could no longer afford to be at the events. From looking at the Midway the last year or so it seems that many others have also been priced out of the Midway.
That and the current economy have greatly reduced the Midway. There is hardly a Midway anymore. I can not see the reasoning of NHRA on this. Just My 2 Cents Rick Cates Canyon, TX |

in my opinion this is where nhra is missing the boat. when I was younger, I would often go to a national event with a pocket full of money , looking to buy parts on the midway, and watch some racing. I would walk the pits to check out the pro-stocks , and comp cars up close. and spend , spend , spend.
now you can't even get close to the pro cars anymore. the midway is empty, so without any of these things drawing me to the race, I have no interest in being there anymore as a fan . so now I'm at these races just as a racer, and I pretty much just race , and go visit my racer friends, I no longer feel I want to walk around the pro pits or the midway. no more spending, I wont give them 30.00 bucks for a t-shirt. so this makes wonder how many fans just stay at home , and watch it on tv. their greed is turning away people, and vendors ect.

I agree with Mark. ....NHRA has driven the venders out with ridiculous fees, plus they gave all their spaces to the Pros.
I used to buy tons of parts at National events from the Manufacturers in the '80s and made some life long friends in the process. Those connections have helped on occasion to get paid by companies that no longer participate in NHRA's game . Some times they paid the same $ , other times they gave deals on parts. The bottom line is ,IF you win ,sent letters ,pictures , praises, ect . to every manufacturer whose part you run. ...You never know who just might sen you a check !
