Div 6 National Opens

Div 6 just posted the National Open schedule for 2017. I wonder why they would schedule the July 14-17 Woodburn points meet and the Edmonton/Castrol raceway national open on the same weekends. I would think that would hurt car counts at both events. Also having 3 opens scheduled back to back and going from Alberta to BC and back to Alberta will also hurt.

Did you notice in the small print that the national opens are no longer a point series ? No more end of year national open championship Wally, gold cards or jacket. Another NHRA enhancement!

(The National Open Series will not conduct a year end point championship unto itself; however the National Open Events will play host to points Series such as the Malarkey Roofing Products Super Quick Series as well as the Northwest Junior Championship Series.)

im glad i won 10 of those national open championships and 20 of the point series races now theres nothing to race for it was a good run while it lasted mike rice started a good thing to bad some body had to end it. Don the worm elgin
