We recently purchased a 63 1/2 Galaxie and are in the process of setting it up to run Stock Eleminator. It came to us with fiberglass front fenders. Since the fiberglass fenders were available from Ford in 63 are they legal to run? Thanks for your help.

The fiberglass fenders are legal only on the lightweight 1963 full size Ford 427. The lightweight package also used a fiberglass flat hood and aluminum bumpers. Since the aluminum bumpers are extremely rare to find they may be replaced with steel bumpers but NOT fiberglass bumpers. The lightweight runs a couple classes higher than the all steel 1963 Ford.
