I have a question to ask of the community. Is the Demon in the guide? Has anybody ordered one strickly for racing yet? Wonder if it would be a competitive car.

Not in the guide, but advertised HP of 800 (not necessarily what they would submit to NHRA) would make for one one heavy behemoth...even in FSS/A trim I can't imagine it being competitive...

While at local Dodge dealer two weeks ago a salesman told me they have 5 deposits. I was shocked that 5 were on order from Waldorf, Md. Gave salesman my number and asked him to call me when one comes in, should I hold my breath?

When the Hellcat came out my Father-in-law decided he just had to have one. Alk the dealers in our area wanted 5-10k over invoice so he searched around and found one in Virginia Beach and just paid the invoice. Wouldn't be surprised if the dealers do the same on these if the demand is high enough.

Dodge made over 12,000 2016 Hellcats. After the big demand for the 2015's, and big dealer markups and profits, Dodge over produced and over estimated total cars needed. Last winter in the Mpls./St. Paul area, there were 96 unsold Hellcats in stock at local dealers. Last week i checked local supply and prices and there was a dealer offering a new 2016 Hellcat at $13,000 off sticker. Dodge is going to make 3000 Demons for US sale and 300 for Canada, one year only and some claim to have gotten them for MSRP, but most are marked up. I do not think the Demon will make it to the NHRA guide.

Pearl Dodge in Peotone, IL sold their Demon within 15 minutes of being able to take orders. It sold for sticker, and the guy checked every possible option box. $100K out the door. The number of Demons a dealer gets was based off how many Hellcats they sold.
They just sold their last 2016 Hellcat. It sat for over a year and went for $10K off list. As soon as the rumor of the Demon hit, Hellcat sales tanked. |
