Default I shouldn't be surprised

I shouldn't be surprised that after a year of racing under my belt I still meet some really great people at events.
First round of Stock this last weekend at SLC I was paired up with Mike Cotton. He had an interesting dial against me that was no big deal in my book but a little out of the ordinary. As it turns out I red lighted against Mike anyway.
After the race Paula made a point of finding me at my trailer and explained that they had some mechanical issues as the reason for the dial. I had not met her before but she was very nice. The next day in the staging lanes Mike came up to me and also explained what was going on. I appreciate what they did.
I'm sure I don't need to tell most of you what stand up folks the Cottens are!

Each time I go racing I'm starting to figure out what a great community this is. Bob Gullett congratulated me on my qualifying run Saturday, it's nice to have encouragement from the other racers.

Our neighbors at this race were Sportsman Motorcycle racers. I know they usually keep to themselves but Larry Mota and his wife turned out to be great people and a lot of fun. On top of that Larry won both races for the weekend!

My wife, our friends and I had an exceptionally good time racing this weekend, too bad it was the last race for Rocky Mountain Raceway.

Thanks, everyone

It was a pleasure to meet you there as well, and congrats on the qualifying position, cool that it got you the round 2 bye in race 2.

The Cottons are two of the finest people you could meet anywhere.
