No....unless you consider the FS cars crate motors....Gainesville stock filled up in less than 24 hours...not sure their business model includes any more classes...not sure they even have a business model ?? ...

Post Re: Crate Engine

NHRA Div. 2 has had "Opens", which allowed IHRA legal cars for the last 2 years. It gave grade points towards an NHRA entry at nationals and a Gold Card, at least for that series. But no contingency or points fund. I ran a couple the first year. I appreciate the effort by Div. 2, but due to budget, I decided to focus on getting an NHRA combo figured out. Haven't heard anything for this year and don't know what other divisions were doing. As you probably know, some divisions allow them in independent series events.

EDIT: *****I just got sent a 2020 Div. 2 Open schedule and they are continuing the series with crate motors with double events!*****

As far as a business standpoint, they are probably making more money by making more racers attend more divisionals fighting for grade points and a spot in the small quotas they provide at nationals. They don't need crate motors and the tech associated with it.

I tried to support IHRA when they put on races in this area (Div 4)
I felt like it was not going to be a long term deal.
I never understood guys building IHRA only cars (Crate Motor’s) They didn’t draw enough Stock or SS cars to keep going. Last one I ran only had 5 SS cars, and my check for winning bounced. Track never made it good. Last two I ran were like that. Never got paid.
IHRA ended up as ET bracket only races only, right?

Mike, I see that you are local to me.
The NHRA Open, at TMP allows CM cars. I do see a lot of our local CM cars there.
Also, the NHRA Open, in Napierville allows CM cars.
I do not recall seeing any of our local CM cars attending that race. It is a great track and the staff bent over backwards for us.

That is great, but his question was regarding allowing CM cars in the NHRA.
I had a short discussion this morning, with someone, regarding this.
From what I was told, the Nitro Joe stats only show 20 CM cars. I'm pretty sure that is not enough to make the NHRA take notice.
