Default SS & STK classes not full for Dallas?

With the entry deadline just 3 days away, why aren't these fields full?

27 spots open in SS and 16 open spots for Stock.

Looks like last year only had 53 entries in SS and 54 in Stock. Previous years also seem to not fill up.

Has the quota always been 70 or did NHRA bump it up for this event?

Is there another race that weekend that's drawing racers away? Maybe it's just logistically difficult for some?

I'm just curious.

Matt, we really APPRECIATE your input on this forum. I can’t answer your question BUT it appears some racers are just WISING up…
After all, they do call it the DEATHPLEX ….that LEFT lane is downright DANGEROUS …

Horrible pit conditions would be a good place to start.

Man Super Stockers are by far my favorite category. It's just so cool watching those things. I've always enjoyed going to BG on Saturdays and watching round 1 of SS after the alcohol cars. It's just a neat way to end the day while the sun goes down.

Tied for 2nd would be Stock and comp eliminator. Hats off to all of you hardcore guys and gals.

I had no idea the left lane had issues! What's wrong with it? Has anybody brought it to the attention of the track or NHRA? It's our first time going there.

Your dragster will be fine ….it’s not like you guys will be hitting the brakes at 1200 feet to avoid breaking out ….

NHR the truck operators and racers have known forever it is a problem.
The pit situation is also a mess. I know racers who will in Oklahoma that will pass on the motorplex even though they are just going to be a few hours away.

Matt, please take a trip out to the sportsman pits. You might just find an answer to your question

We plan on making 3 of the 4 qualifiers which is no small feat for the lowest funded nitro team with crew guys and gals who all have normal Monday - Friday jobs. So my free time could be incredibly limited. But if I'm able to get away I will absolutely do that. I'm assuming the sportsman pit area is the large grass field on the left side of the track beginning at the finish line?

Look for the large dust bowl or the big mud pit...pending weather.
