Thanks Howie
It is supposed to be a salvage yard. I am trying to buy a coyote CJ manifold from them. They are asking for payment methods that raise red flags, |

Ya. I checked ebay and yelp. The listing was on FB. Getting a totally different vibe from the person that I talked to and messaged. When I wouldn't pay as a donation or friends and family on PP they went radio silent. I would normally run at this point ,but these manifolds seem to be hard to find and it is worth investigating further,

Fred's in Oswego is legit according to a couple people i know up that way, say they've been around a long time. If you end up having any issues let me know. Things are a little crazy with the holidays but at some point I could run up there. Good luck and keep me posted.....Howie

Try contacting them directly, I've seen too many scams that look right BUT have one letter/number different than the real thing.
I'd make a phone call, myself.

About the F&F thing - I've run into this with transactions in another hobby and it's not always a scammer with the no protection for the buyer thing.
In a straight paypal transaction, the seller gets hit with fees that are about 3-4%. F&F puts the extra cost on the sender. For many cases, contacting the seller and offering to add that amount of money to a regular transaction will clear the way. They have a set price in their mind and won't take a penny less, so doing this meets their requirements. You can search on the net as there are calculators for exactly this so you'll know how much to "overpay". Last edited by Dan Bennett; 12-12-2024 at 07:07 PM. |
