Well PBIR managed to pull off the Nostalgia race in spite of rushing to complete the facility. Although some ammenities have yet to be completed they did a fantastic job under the circumstances. A temporary food court was set up that wasn't half bad. They even brought in a large scale temporary restroom (like a double wide mobile home). Probably the biggest issue was pit space but they were quick to help out. And I wouldn't be surprised they have that under control by the Citrus Nats. Truly a work in progress, but they are most definitely going in the right direction.
The track surface is awesome. Prior to my first pass I forgot to drop tire pressure but incredibly it still hooked!! If I did that on the old surface it would have kicked the ***-end out when I lauched. Downtime was minimal, and the program moved along very smooth. All I can say is George Case has made a remarkable difference. Hats off to him and the new PBIR staff. They proved they care about their guests..both racers and spectators The attached picture was taken within the last couple days, and will give everyone an idea of how the facility looks at night. ![]()
