I'm going from gas to alcohol carb this year and was wondering what kind of exh temp i should try to be at.

You will have 5 people tell you differnt things. First of all it depends what kind of EGT you have and how they are installed they do make a differnce. Anyway most people are between 1100-1250 mine works the best at about 1175 mabye a good starting point.

Thanks. I was just looking for a starting point, on gas i was around 1350,1370 and i was pretty shore that was too high.

Kenny go by water temp. make a pass with the waterpump off (Dave had trouble here too) .
You should gain 10 to 20 degrees 10 being a little fat 20 being a touch lean and make a note where EGT is. Every EGT gauge is differrent , cam timiing and ign. timing play a roll in EGT temp. That why it's good to use water temp. |
