Question Front disc brake ?

Ive got a Strange front disc brake kit for my 71 buick GS.Will be intalling the front brakes only.My car originally came with front disc brakes. Why cant i just use the master cylinder ,prop valve line set up that is on it now?.I want to stay with a original style m cyl. not the aluminum ,plastic thats prone to leakage that Strange sells.Has anyone done this? What do you suggest?

Lyn we run the Strange one now, but in the past have run a GM master cylinder that was alum with the plastic resevoir. I think it was off of a S-10. We did use the aftermarket prop valve though. We also have used the plastic mopar one before. Got it at Autozone. The caps didn't leak either.

you can use the stock master but the bore size mite be a problem,,,if the bore size on the master is to big it mite give you a real firm pedal and mite not be able hold the car back while staging

check the stock master bore size ,,,the stange calipers are 4 piston ? what size ?
the set i run has a 7/8 bore on a stange master with 4 piston wilwood calipers and i have great brake hold also it would be handy to have a brake presure gauge this will give the best info on brake performance,i have one plumbed in to the front brakes (used to run a stick)

one last thing is the push rod to pedal ratio,,if the pedal is way to stiff you mite be able to change the ratio(drill a different hole) to get desired brake presure

Lyn,

Did you get the Pro Serie 2 set-up? That is what I am researching. Strange is going to have the new rotors at Indy to look at. Are you going to be at Beechbend this weekend? Interested in your thoughts on them, see you at BB or Indy.
