Anyone want to post pictures of your current car in it's previous life? Here are a few of mine. The pic of the blue car is when Troy Humphrey owned it and the black one is when Jimmy Spell had it. My car has gotten around. NC, New York, Maine, and now Texas. Ed

I remember both.
I live in Kinston ,NC and watched that car and many more compete in my "Youngin" days. Remember a lot of the old cars as i used to mark the winshields in the tech dept at KDS. You can go to kdsmotorsports.com and scroll to bottom of page and click on the pics gallery and see a lot of old cars that were raced there.... Man i'm getting old, thanks for the reminder...lol

1969 - Old Enough?? When it was Grandma & Grandpa's car - That's Grandma in the photo, in front of my great grandmother's house in Gary, IN. I didn't come along for a couple more years.

The first photo is one of dad's (Curtis Smith's) old Stock Eliminator cars that he raced in the 1970s. This car was later sold to Jimmy Morton, with Jeff Taylor driving it the the NHRA world championship in 1981.
The second photo is of dad's "Hot Stuff" Camaro at Rockingham in the 1980s. Dad later won the IHRA Stock World Championship with this car in 1996. We still have and race this car. The third photo is of grandpa's (Earl Smith) "Shakedown" 1969 Camaro with dad driving it at Englishtown, NJ at the NHRA national event in 1985. Dad won that event. We still have and race this car also. Last edited by Curt Smith Jr.; 06-17-2011 at 07:13 PM. |
