Default Noob question

I've been looking at some stick shift Nova's on YouTube, and boy are these screaming little small-block cars cool or what!? However, it got me kinda curious. I noticed these cars are raced in SS/H, SS/I, SS/J, SS/K and SS/L. How is this possible? The 283 and 327 are two combinations, right? What are the others?

Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'm not a racer and I don't have a rule book.
