GREETING FROM THE ALVEY, LAYER, NICESWANGER & WILKES FAMILIES:

It's once again time to begin planning our 11th annual "OHIO VALLEY DRAG RACERS DINNER AND DANCE". The Dinner & Dance will be on Saturday, January 18th, 2014, at the RAMADA PLAZA LOUISVILLE, 9700 Bluegrass Pkwy. Louisville, Ky 40299. Anyone booking rooms for the Ramada please call 502-491-4830. Out of town guests staying Friday night the 17th, the special room rate wll be honored. When making your reservations please let them know that you are with the OHIO VALLEY DRAG RACERS PARTY for room rates of $69.95 per night. All room reservations MUST be reserved no later than January 3rd, 2014. Our hospitality Room will be open Friday night as well as Saturday. We encourage everyone to bring their own drinks, beer or liquor to the Hospitality Room. Soft drinks and snacks will be provided. Friday night seating for 80 at Wicks Pizza (in the Hotel) has been reserved for us from 7- 11pm. This year we will have Live entertainment. There will be a band starting at 9:00 pm.
On Saturday, anyone wanting to participate in inside Go-Cart Racing, Matt has made reservations for 1:00 pm. Please let Matt know if you are planning to attend.
Saturday evening cocktails will begin at 6:00 pm. Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm. Entertainment with our DJ will follow beginning at 8:00 pm. The cost for the Dinner & Dance will be $35.00 per person. Please make checks for dinner payable to Matt Alvey and mail to: 354 Cedar Brook Dr, Mt.Washington, Ky 40047. Checks MUST be received by January 3rd, 2014. Due to the size of our banquet we are asking that all money is paid by January 3rd. We WILL NOT be excepting money the evening of the banquet. SORRY NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!
A cash bar will be available for your drinking pleasure. Anyone wanting to RESERVE a table in advance, please let us know prior to Saturday evening.

Once again we will be having a raffle & silent auction to offset the cost of our party. Any and all DONATIONS will be gladly appreciated. You can bring donations with you or you can send any items to Greg Smith, 120 Trotter Ln, Campbellsville, KY 42718. Alex Owens has all 2013 racing pictures or scrapbooks for everyone to enjoy. Master of Ceremonies Leo Taugher, will be honoring our Div. 3 Stock & Super Stock Champions.

Festivities began Friday night with a get together at the Ramada Plaza's Wick's restaurant, with good food and drink, a live band, and merely the beginning of a long weekend of bench racing. If are not yet properly prepared for the 2014 season, please make sure to get your official Redman decal for your car. When you win, buy him a beer.



Saturday morning, a group headed for Bluegrass Indoor Karting, where
Ricky Decker promptly whooped everyone. After the first race, we were sure that he just happened to get 'the fast cart'.

Charley Bob engages in strategery with Kevin Zaskowski and Joe Martens in the hospitality room, replete with pizza and pop, as everyone tries to figure out how to beat Decker. Well, Chuckles was trying to figure out how to get thrown out. He was only black flagged for a couple of laps and reprimanded, however. We should be allowed back by next year.
