16V Lithium Battery

I am considering going to a 16V lithium battery/charger setup on my new dragster. I already run a 16V XS Power setup. I am curious about reserve time to run the fan/water pump in the staging lanes to cool the car during hot laps and still not worry about starting. I run an alternator. I've seen one battery that states it's "alternator" compatible. Anyone have any real time data on reserve capacity and longevity?

I suppose I shouldn't post without specifics but, my racing partner bought a lithium set-up complete from a place out of Tenn. We were very careful to follow the supplied directions, as I have raced RC cars and knew a little about the batteries already. Ran great the first season, then promptly quit, about halfway thru the second season. Since there was a 2 year warranty, he inquire, to the manufacturer and was told the warranty was no good, " BUY ANOTHER ONE". There, was the end of that experiment!

Call and take to someone at Braille, they will be able to give you all the details and suggest which battery is best for your situation.

Their batteries have won many endurance races, a drag race and a few accessories is nothing compared to the demands on those cars.

They sponsor both our S and SS cars (and yes, it helps us and all of S/SS if you tell them others are recommending their products and the reason for your inquiry from a sponsored racer).

We have replaced our old Li supplier (the one I believe referenced in the other post as well) with Braille and expect nothing but the best results with no issues.

I heard back from Lithium Pros. John told that a lithium battery was probably not suited to my SC dragster with an alternator and maybe having to run the fans in the staging lanes for 15 -20 minutes during hot laps.
However, I was told by Altronics that their "920" combo would be perfect.

We have 25 years experience in electronic design and have been manufacturing racing batteries for 15 years. Specifically the lithium types for about 6 now. Lithium batteries require various electronic interfaces in order to make them last and function in a racing environment. Other "battery" manufacturers have had problems with some of these areas and have unfortunately caused a bad taste in the racing industry with their lithium batteries.


Our PowerLite batteries have been proven to last when used properly, work fine with alternators, and can be used to repeatedly "bump" motor when setting valves with no issues.


Lithium is not unlike a lead battery in that if you drain it out, it will hurt or damage the battery. When a lead battery is drained and destroyed it costs a few hundred to replace, but a lithium cost much more!!


Our PowerLite batteries can be purchased with an option to prevent them from being drained too low.
