Been looking at the NHRA car specs and there seems to be some error on engine hp. I keep coming up with a 20 something factor. Tried a 74 duster 360 and that shows more hp same engine. So what is the factor for a 78 Volare,360 big cam, iron head? Or what class? Thanks

If I remember correctly, most of the 360's in a Volare/Aspen are 289 HP (4 barrel). Doeesn't matter if it's big cam/small cam or big carb/little carb. 1976 may be a bit less. Most end up in the G/H/I range.
At work and don't have time to look'em up.

Thanks found the info, all I had to do was look up top of the new posts, CR had it there. Looking at a Volare already set up ready to go, not sure if price is good or bad or if competive.

I see you are new to Class Racer. Welcome and enjoy. You will find lots of very helpful people on this site.
Is the Volare that you are looking at the former Lisa Bolton car that is in the Classified section?? If so, you can't build the car for what they are asking. I would call them and find out all you can about it and then, if possible, go look at it in person. Things to ask: How fresh is the drive train, how far under index does it run and when was it last run?? These and a few more should give you a great starting place to possibly buy that car, or any car that meets your needs..

The one I'm looking at has been stashed away for maybe 8-10 years, engine was freshened and updated, new converter, but never put back together so have no idea what it should or could run. Was told it ran 11.50-60 on old setup??

I have been running mine in F/SA, It weighs 3200 lbs in F weight, seems to like not having the weight in it. I have been 10.80s with it on an 11.85 index, I would be willing to sell it, it has the best of the best in it, pro-trans with 4 passes on it since new, brand new tires, kirkey seats etc, as nice of a car as you can get, rare t-top original r/t car. motor is apart currently. when finished should run .95 under easy. if interested give me a call
