Looks like Bandimere is the next one to hit the chopping block as they will host their last NE in 2023. It does look like the family might be looking for another location, so hopefully they will find something to continue racing.

Great.
Englishtown, Atlanta, Phoenix, Houston, Bandimere, with numerous other scares. Looks like the whole "national event quota" will become an irrelevant problem soon enough?? |

Encourage everyone to watch the video. A hiatus sounds a lot better than departure.

I've only been there once, but even putting aside the beautiful and unique setting, it is such a nice track.
Pit space is a little light for the rigs of today, but they do a lot of little things right. Scoreboards on the back of the tower for those in the staging lanes, air hose under the tower for last-second adjustments, flags in multiple locations down the track for monitoring the wind (and they may all be pointing different directions!). Very well thought-out.

Its a wonderful unique track with great management and I will miss it. I would also recommend watching Mr. Bandimere's video, it will give you a little different perspective.
I have attended many of the Mile-High Nationals as a spectator. It is cool to be able to step from the pits into the top row of the grandstands. However I never understood why they did not provide better pits for the Stock and Super Stock racers. Hopefully they will do better the next time. Last edited by 340Cuda; 04-23-2023 at 12:51 PM. |

The present state of things makes all these stories hit even harder.
Bandimere is an exceptional place, and in my mind that's really unusual for a place that isn't known for setting records. We put on some Muscle Car Nationals there for a few years, and the Bandimere family - right up there with the Baders and Alan Miller when he was at Houston - were the best operators I ever worked with. It's been while since I've been there, but I will really miss the place. And somehow losing it for cookie cutter houses hurts more than storage for auction cars. |

I posted this in another thread that I thought was this one, sorry for the double post:
Someone on Moparts.com posted this: This reply from Debbie Bandimere this morning, I asked if they had anything promising yet: Nothing concrete but most likely east or north of Denver. We have had several encouraging meetings with county officials, even one this past week. Our heart and desires are to provide a place for our racers, fans, and sponsors to continue doing the sport we all love. Thank you for your support!
