Want to find a good engine builder for a stock class car. We are going to run a 305" 79 malibu wagon in n/sa. And need to find a builder that can give us a good competetive engine. Would prefer the west coast, but that is not set in stone. the #1 priority is simply an engine builder with a good reputation, and familiar with stock class rules. If anyone has some recommendations, would be grateful for the assistance. Thanks

On that combination I would recomend Parsons & Myers in Ohio. They are honest and competent.

I would suggest the person who motor build the quickest small block chevy with a carburetor at Phx National event and the Phoenix points meet ( the trans brake slowed the car as it shifted but the stacts show he would have gone a 86) and the Tucson points meet
Gary McGlasson ( 1-505-865-0059) PS Gary Also builded the First Stocker to show a 9 on the score boards in A/SA , the first Stocker in AA/SA to go in the 9s, the first stocker to win class and the first AA/Sa to set the national record to a 9:79 . Case closed call Gary if you want to go Quick at a fair price

My son and I build alot of stock and superstock motors. I don't think you wil find anyone that looks for more absolute precision than us. We are in Ohio though.. But I will promise you that you will be fast with one of my motors. I have been building motors for over 30 years. If interested please PM me. Thanks, Jim

Larry Hollums in Kent, Washington has built a lot of very quick Stockers over the years. His phone number is (425) 432-1450. He is among the very best Stock engine builders on the West Coast. Give him a call. He's friendly and approachable.

I'm also considering having a 305 built, east coast preferably, and was wondering the same as the original post, gotta kick out of your choice of words, though. |
