You guys might not know Randal but he is 21 and one of the nicest kids you will ever meet him, his mom and dad. He was driving Ken Myricks pure stocker they just finished last month and ran at our IHRA race. Kevin Molton was RU and I hope I said the name right. Bandon Peterson was RU in the Thursday night Piedmont Combo.
Guys I know it was tough getting to the lanes but Big Dog on 4th of July is a 10 year deal. Remember to get pics of your car in front of all those fans for sponsors. Herb Jr |

That was one heck of a show last night. I've not seen that many spectators at a drag race in years.I think there were 22 S/SS competitors, the 16 car Big Dog race, and a few misc. cars and motorcycles, but man, what a crowd. Great show, Herb and crew!
Congrats to Randall for the win in a great looking Nova. The runner up was Kevin Riner. Brandon Peterson was the other semi-finalist, and I think he had a .001 red on that run... Thanks again for a great show! Last edited by BobD; 07-04-2008 at 05:31 PM. Reason: correct spelling |

Congrats to Randall, he is a very nice young man. I had the opportunity to run him on our first time run and he nailed the tree on that run, evidently changing the bulbs didn't affect him as he went on to win the race. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Kevin Molten is another 2nd generation class racer that has just started in the stocker. If so the final 3 were all young kids (good job Brandon on the semi's) and they are wearing us old dogs out! It's great to see the new "young blood" coming into stock/super stock racing. Thanks to Herb and Mike for putting on the show...to say it was a huge crowd is an understatement!

In the "qualifying" run, Randall was .005 and dead-on with a 4 against me!

Great show once again Herb, Mike and the Piedmont crew. Very entertaining. Thanks again for allowing us class racers to be apart of the action. I think more spectators saw us go down the track last night than at the last 2 national events I've attended.
Congratulations to Randal and to runner up Kevin Riner. As Tracy mentioned Kevin is the son Henry (Jr) Riner. Jr has been a stocker pilot for 20+ yrs formally wheeling a G/stick Camaro while teamed with Johnny Faircloth. Other last night notables imo: -Had the best fish samwich ever last night out of the fish and ribeye steak trailer. Not some frozen microwave slab, this was a full filet on white bread. Damn good eatin. Witnessed the seemingly mindless parking choices by some spectators and subsequent conseqences. lol Near 3 sec bracket dragster pass, Todd Tuttlerow taking on, well, anybody. The "let me see if I can flip this over backwards" S10 driver. And many more. See you next time. Cant miss it. |

Way to go Randall and Kevin great race.... thanks to Herb and Mike for the race im glad you guys decided to have us out there...my buddy from work had to call and pick on me for the -001 at 3 cars plus he blamed me for losing his bet on me finally..he said people were throwing down bigger money on the combo racers than on some of the big dog races. we really enjoyed the race thanks again
