I am in in the very important planning stage for a Crate Motor stocker. My plan is to run a "G" body with one of the SBC aluminum head engines. Let me hear about some competitive and successful combos being run.
And, to let you have some understanding of my thinking, if the 385/395 fast burn engine is a valid option, I like the combo for several reasons. Roller cam, reasonable lift, light weight valve train, good compression. Let me hear about some experiences and on track, actual results. Thanks

I have built those engines for IHRA Crate Motor classes. Made good power with legal heads. Don't buy a complete engine. There is too much to throw away, Esp. the powdered rods. I've seen some of those stock valves come apart, too. Buy the components you need & spend the money to build a blueprinted one. Give me a call & I can put you in touch with one of my customers that can give you years worth of experience.
